Data protection
Another important aspect concerning legal
aspects in the web is data protection. Young people tend to pubish everything
without thinking about it. Social networks like facebook, schuelervz, studivz
or else entice them to publish pictures or personal data. We have to discuss
this issue very forcefully with our pupils. This checklist contains many
keywords we already discussed when we talked about protecting young people.
Nevertheless, they are very important. The more often we talk about it the
better.
1. Do not publish private information (e.g. full name, address, phone number...) of yourself or of anyone else!
2. Do not upload private pictures!
3. Always keep in mind that information once published can never be deleted completely!
4. Do not add unknown people or give them your details (e.g. icq)! Be aware that the internet can hide people's true identities!
5. Always remember that a password is your secret, don't tell it to anyone.
6. Choose your password reasonably and don't use the same for everything!
7. Be careful dowloading stuff (viruses)
8. Do not leave the computer before you have logged off on all your accounts, and don't forget your USB stick in the computer!
9. Remember that a contract signed on the internet is also a valid contract!
10. Always read the General standard terms and conditions before signing a contract on the internet.
